In Friday’s NCS post-season action…

Boys Basketball

The 5th seeded boys basketball team defeated 4th seed Sir Francis Drake HS 64-61 in overtime in the NCS quarterfinals to advance to the Semifinals at Bishop O’Dowd HS Wednesday at 7:00. Matt Thomas scored 29 points, with 5 3-pointers and Buster Souza added 25 points.

Wrestling

Andrew Nakahara defeated his first two opponents before falling to the #1 seed in the quarterfinals at the NCS Wrestling Championships at Newark Memorial HS. He advances to the second day of competition on Saturday.

blanked Alhambra HS 9-0. Isaiah Bird, Nico Brightbill, Ryan Pegels, Ian Dao, Ian Richard and Cole Noone won singles matches. Jin Heo & Conor Sasner, Zaid Nabulsi & Will Price and Jonah Hodge & Alex Hashim won doubles matches.

The 5th seeded boys basketball team hosts San Marin HS at 7:00 in the first round of the NCS playoffs.
Note: At all NCS playoff events, there will be a charge at the door of $9 general admission and $6 for students with student body cards, children and senior citizens. No passes nor ASB stickers will be honored.

Baseball

plays California HS at 3:30. Varsity is home and JV away.

Boys Lacrosse

hosts Amador Valley HS in a scrimmage. JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.

In Friday’s action…

Boys Basketball

ended the regular season on a high-note defeating Miramonte HS 49-43. The JV team was defeated as was the freshman team in the last seconds.

Girls Basketball

was defeated by Miramonte HS. The JV team completed an undefeated DFAL season with the victory.

In Saturday’s action…

Baseball

defeated San Rafael HS. The JV team did likewise.

NCS playoffs…

Boys Basketball

is the 5th seed and will host #12 San Marin HS Tuesday at 7:00 in the first round of the NCS playoffs.
Note: At all NCS playoff events, there will be a charge at the door of $9 general admission and $6 for students with student body cards, children and senior citizens. No passes nor ASB stickers will be honored.

Boys Basketball

Buster Souza scored 18 points, with 15 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Ross Teichman added 6 points and 10 rebounds.

Wrestling

At the DFAL championships, both Brian Lilienstein and Andrew Nakahara were league championship runner-ups as they were defeated in the finals by 1 point. Both Sam Ridge and Tai White won their consolation championship matches to place 3rd. All four qualify for the NCS Championships Friday and Saturday at Newark Memorial HS.  Congratulations.

rang up a resounding 80-63 victory over Dublin HS. The freshman team was edged out by 3 points.

Girls Basketball

gave a gutsy performance in defeat to Dublin HS. The JV team remains undefeated in the DFAL.

travels to play at #4 seeded Hercules HS Wednesday at 7:00, with upset on their minds in the first round of the NCS playoffs.

plays Granada HS in a scrimmage at 3:30. Varsity is home and JV away.
