July 17 – Athletic Clearance

Get your 2018-2019 Athletic Clearance for ALL Sports on campus at Acalanes High School!

 

All Acalanes student athletes must have a completed athletic clearance form BEFORE participating in any AHS sports including tryouts. NO EXECEPTIONS!

 

 Sports physicals will be offered on two dates at Acalanes:

 

July 25, 2018 – 3:00 – 6:00 PM – Cafeteria (some sports start July 30)
 August 14, 2018 (Dons Day) – 8:00 -11:30 AM – Main Gym

 

Take advantage of the convenience! Support Acalanes Boosters at the same time!

Dr. William Workman, Dr. Selina Shah, Dr. Alphaeus Wise, and Chris Clark, our AHS Athletic Trainer, have volunteered their time to examine Acalanes students and provide athletic clearances for our athletes.  This is an amazing fundraiser for Boosters which has historically raised over $10,000 for all sports programs.

 


 

Registration is simple and the cost is just $40.00:

2. Next, go to this link: https://www.acalanes.k12.ca.us/athleticclearancesummary

  • You will find (3) athletic clearance forms.
  • Print all (3) forms,
  • Fill out the only the History Form (page 1) only
  • Bring all (3) forms to the medical exam
  • The other two forms are for the physicians to fill out upon examination.
  • SIGNATURES: The HISTORY FORM must to be signed by the athlete and the parent or it will not be accepted.

 

3. Bring $40 cash or check made payable to Acalanes Boosters.

  1. Nothing more to do. We handle the remaining paperwork and clearance with your coach(es)!

Nov 9 – Thursday Sports

In Wednesdays action…

It was an incredible NCS Girls Water Polo Semifinal game. The Dons fell behind Monte Vista HS early 4-1 and fought their way back. They closed the gap to 6-5 and scored with 1:12 left in the game to force overtime. Monte Vista scored in the first half of overtime, but Bella Wentzel answered with the tying goal with 1:34 left in the second overtime half. Freshman Claire Rowell scored quickly after to create an 8-7 lead, but Monte Vista scored at the buzzer to force the second overtime. Monte Vista scored the winning goal in the second overtime. A great game and a great season for our Girls Water Polo team.

In Thursdays action…

The girls tennis team has a match at Dougherty Valley HS at 2:00, weather permitting, in the NCS quarterfinals.

In Tuesdays action…

The girls tennis team pulled out a thrilling 4-3 victory over Mission San Jose HS in the first round of the NCS team playoffs to advance to the quarterfinals at Dougherty Valley HS Thursday at 2:00. Olivia Reinecke & Sam Sweeney recorded the decisive 3 set match to secure the victory. The other doubles matches were won by Sydney Bell & Zoe Cate and Megan Cardiff & Maddie McDonagh. Eliza Bates won her singles match.

In Wednesdays action…

The #3 seeded girls water polo team plays #2 Monte Vista HS at Northgate HS at 6:00 in the NCS semifinals. The winner advances to the championship game Saturday and qualifies for the CIF Northern Regional playoffs.

Note: At all NCS playoff games, there is an admission charge. General admission is $10 and students, children and senior citizens are $6. No passes are honored.

This is a big week for NCS playoffs…

Tuesday, the girls tennis team plays Mission San Jose HS at the Fremont Tennis Center in the first round at 2:00.

Wednesday, the #3 seeded girls water polo team plays #2 Monte Vista HS at Northgate HS in the semifinals at 6:00.

Friday, the #5 seeded football team hosts #12 Petaluma HS at 7:00.

Tickets may be purchased online for the NCS playoff games. They are on GoFan at the links below. After purchase, you will show the ticket on your phone at the main gate and they will deactivate and allow you to enter.

In Fridays action…

The football team finished the regular season pulling out a victory over Miramonte HS 24-21.

Robby Rowell had 168 passing yards, with 2 touchdowns and 107 rushing yards. Brian Merken had 4 receptions for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Nick Price added 3 receptions. Jesse Iniguez-Stralla had a 93 yard kickoff return for a touchdown to begin the second half. Nick Bettencourt had an interception late in the 4th quarter to preserve the win. Trenton Tso had 9.5 tackles, Nick Henderson 6 tackles, Ryan Nall 5.5 tackles and Scott Brydon 4.5 tackles.

In Saturdays action…

The #3 seeded girls water polo team plays Las Lomas HS at Miramonte HS in the NCS quarterfinals at 2:30.

The #5 seeded boys water polo team plays #4 Miramonte HS at Miramonte HS in the NCS quarterfinals at 3:45.

The girls volleyball team plays at Moreau Catholic HS in the NCS quarterfinals at 7:00.

The cross country team competes at the DAL Championships at Hidden Valley Park at 1:00.

In Thursdays action…

The #3 seeded girls water polo team defeated College Park HS 12-3 in the first round of the NCS playoffs to advance to the quarterfinals.

The #5 seeded boys water polo team defeated Foothill HS 22-7 in the first round of the NCS playoffs to advance to the quarterfinals.

The jv football team trailed Las Lomas HS 36-14 late in the 3rd quarter, but rallied to score 24 unanswered points and pull out a 38-36 victory. The freshman team defeated Miramonte HS 41-7.

In Fridays action…

The varsity football team ends the regular season at Miramonte HS at 7:00pm.

The #3 seeded girls water polo team plays #6 Las Lomas HS in the NCS quarterfinals at Miramonte HS at 2:30.

The #5 seeded boys water polo team plays #4 Miramonte HS in the NCS quarterfinals at Miramonte HS at 3:45.

Thursdays individual standouts…

Boys water polo. Bennett Winther scored 5 goals and had 2 steals. Kiriyan Kartsev scored 5 goals and had 1 steal. Mac Darin scored 3 goals. Mike Winther scored 2 goals, had 2 assist and had 2 steals. Spencer Tompkins scored 2 goals, had 1 assist and had 4 steals. Max Stryker scored 2 goals, had 1 assist and had 2 steals.

JV football. Mikey O’Donnell completed 14 of 25 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns and added 4.5 tackles on defense. Michael Roux had 14 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown and 5.5 tackles on defense. Jack Muren had 7 receptions for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. Wes Alpert had 4 receptions for 68 yards and Luke Miles 4 receptions for 64 yards. Ryan Reilly had a rushing touchdown, Teo Barakos had 6.5 tackles and Ben Clark added an interception.

Freshman football. Brady Huchingson completed 12 of 17 passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 2 touchdowns. Graham Oh had a rushing touchdown and 6 tackles on defense. Dan Jenssen had a rushing touchdown. Joe Evans and Sam Heyman had receiving toudhdowns. Adam Kim had 4.5 tackles and Thomas Schrader had 4 tackles.

The NCS water polo playoffs begin today with games at Contra Costa College.
The #5 seeded boys water polo team plays #12 Foothill HS at 5:00.
The #3 seeded girls water polo team plays #14 College Park HS at 6:15.

The freshman football team hosts Miramonte HS at 5:00 and the jv team hosts Las Lomas HS at 7:00.

Nov 1 – Wednesday Sports

Last night, the girls volleyball team opened NCS playoff action with a victory over Petaluma HS 26-24, 25-23 and 25-18 to advance to the quarterfinals Saturday at Moreau HS at 7:00. The victory was a complete team effort led by Maddie Risch, Teresa Nevins, Lane Webster and Maddie Kalil.

Tickets for the following sporting events may be purchased on GoFan. The priced is slightly marked up to cover overhead costs. This provides the convenience of getting through the gate quickly.
