Sept 22 – Friday Sports

In Thursdays action…

The girls tennis team defeated College Park HS 5-4.

The girls volleyball team was defeated by Campolindo HS. The JV and freshmen teams were also defeated.

The freshman football team defeated Northgate HS 42-7.

In Fridays action…

The football team hosts De Anza HS. JV at 4:30 and varsity at 7:00.

The boys water polo team hosts Monte Vista HS. JV at 4:00 and varsity at 5:00.

The girls water polo team competes in the Amanda McDonald Invitational at Menlo School.

In Saturdays action…

The girls water polo team competes in the Amanda McDonald Invitational at Menlo School.

The JV boys water polo team competes in the St. Francis tournament.

The JV girls volleyball team competes in the Dougherty Valley tournament.

The freshman girls volleyball team competes in the East County tournament at Pittsburg HS.

​Thursdays individual standouts…

​Girls tennis. Zoe Cate and Jess Gerson won singles matches. Olivia Reinecke & Sam Sweeney, Molly Cronk & Vivian Toni and ​Sophia Cooper & Rachel Minden won doubles matches.

Freshman football. Brady Huchingson completed 8 of 12 passes for 121 yards and 3 passing touchdowns and one running score. Jackson Aris-Dumas had 3 receptions for 49 yards and 1 score. Quinn Elle and Adam Kim each added a receiving touchdown, Thomas Schrader an interception return for a score and Sam Heyman returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Defensive standouts. Graham Oh had 8 tackles and Adam Kim and Thomas Schrader each added 3 tackles. Adam Kim, Logan Hope and Graham Oh also had interceptions.

Sept 21 – Thursday Sports

In Wednesdays action…

The girls golf team defeated Las Lomas HS 256-262.

Avalon Schenone shot a 41 on a 9-hole par 36 course.

In Thursdays action…

The girls volleyball team hosts Campolindo HS. Freshmen at 4:00, JV at 5:00 and Varsity at 6:30.

The varsity girls tennis team has a match at College Park HS and the JV team hosts Bentley HS, both at 3:30.

The freshman football team plays at Northgate HS at 5:00.

Sept 11 – Monday Sports

In Friday’s action…

The football team defeated Rodriguez HS 35-10.
The JV team was nearly perfect in victory 44-0.
The boys water polo team defeated Ponderosa HS 14-4 and Rio Americano HS 15-4 in the Menlo Invitational.
The girls tennis team defeated Leland HS and Redwood HS before falling to Santa Margarita HS in the Fresno Invitational.

In Saturday’s action…

The girls water polo team defeated Gunn HS 16-2 and California HS 18-2 the Acalanes Invitational.
The boys water polo team was defeated by San Ramon Valley HS and St. Mary’s HS of Stockton in the Menlo Invitational.
The girls tennis team was defeated by Buchanan HS and Stockdale HS in the Fresno Invitational.

Friday’s individual standouts…

Varsity football

Robby Rowell completed 14 of 24 passes for 244 yards, scored on a 32 yard run and threw three touchdowns to Brian Merken, who had 6 receptions for 121 yards. Chris Rogers also had 6 receptions for 65 yards. Nick Price had 4 receptions for 49 yards, and Tommy Thrasher 3 receptions for 61 yards. Jake Delaney had 3 receptions for 45 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Nick Kresnak completed 9 of 11 passes for 109 yards. Defensively, Seth Pezman had 5 tackles, Alex Cortessis 4 tackles and Nick Bettencourt 3 tackles.

JV football

Mikey O’Donnell scored 4 touchdowns, 2 passing, 1 running and 1 on an interception return. John Kalil threw a touchdown pass and added 3 tackles. Jack Muren had 5 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. Luke Miles had 1 touchdown reception. Avery Howell scored a rushing touchdown. Eddie Gray led the defense with 3.5 tackles and Teo Barakos and Carson Burrill added 3 tackles.

Sep 5 – All Sports Meeting 7PM

What: Acalanes All-sports meeting (Fall / Winter / Spring) for all Acalanes sports for this year.

When: Tuesday, September 5th @ 7pm

Where: Acalanes PAC

Topics: Important issues for all sports including athletic funding, CIF and NCS rules & registrations, and Q&A.

This meeting will be the only All -Acalanes sports meeting for this year.

Individual sports team meetings with coaches will occur as usual prior to each seasonal sport.

In Tuesday’s action…

Girls Volleyball

You had to be there. The girls volleyball team dropped the first two games to Deer Valley HS. They rallied to win the next three games and posted the win 24-26, 22-25, 25-13, 25-18, 15-10. The jv and freshman teams swept in two games, 25-14, 25-10 and 25-15, 25-9, respectively.

Girls Tennis

was defeated by Amador Valley HS.

In Wednesday’s action…

Boys Water Polo

has a scrimmage at De La Salle HS. JV at 4:00 and varsity at 5:30.

Zoe McPhail was a defensive standout in the back row and Sam Darin scored clutch kills in game five.
