The cross country teams competed in the NCS Meet of Champions at the division 3 level with great success. The girls finished 2nd as Annie Marggraff finished in 3rd place, Amy Hollshwandner 4th, Kelly Collins 8th, Tara Bozzini 9th, Kelli Berge 27th, Caith Wright 44th, and Kyra Ruegg 46th. The boys finished 7th as Tyler Troxel finished in 5th place, Michael Wang 44th, Keenan Byrne 46th, and Marshall Crawford 50th.
The DFAL Cross Country League Championships were held on Saturday, 5th at Hidden Valley Park. It was a cool but dry afternoon and there were some great efforts by the Acalanes teams.
The first race was the Frosh/Soph Girls. The team finished 4th with Briana Grether finishing 12th overall. The remainder of the team, Julia Machol, Katie Anderson, Emily Cavanaugh, Diane Halm finished together, 18th, 19th, 21st and 22nd.
The Acalanes Dons Varsity girls cross country team continues to do well this year, finishing 2nd at the second and only Center Meet (first one was rained out) this year. Annie Marggraff finished 2nd overall, with Amy Hollshwandner in 5th, Kelly Collins in 9th, Tara Bozzini in 11th and Kelli Berge right behind in 12th. Annie, and Kelly set new PR’s for themselves on the Shadow Cliffs Park course.
Other notable performances were Alec Weber finished 4th in the F/S Boys race with nearly a 1 minute improvement over last year’s time.
Luc Van Oss finished a strong 9th in the JV race with Nick Warren in 13th.
For the Boys varsity, Tyler Troxel continues to have a strong senior year with a new PR for the course. He finished in 10th place overall.
In yesterdays action…
The girls water polo team defeated Miramonte HS 6-3.
The boys water polo team was defeated by Miramonte HS 11-8.
The girls cross country team finished 2nd and the boys 4th at the DFAL Center Meet.

The girls tennis team has a match at Dublin HS at 3:30.
The freshman football team hosts Dublin HS at 5:00.

Girls water polo – Megan Dietrich and Molly Quinn each scored 2 goals, and Megan Mes had 6 saves, and Katie Ramm had 4 saves.
Boys water polo – Connor Reid scored 5 goals, Tanner Cullen scored 2 goals, and Tucker Stone had 6 saves.
Cross country – Annie Marggraff finished 2nd, Amy Hollshwandner 5th, Kelly Collins 9th, Tara Bozzini 11th, and Kelli Berge 12th Tyler Troxel finished 10th.
The JV and Frosh/Soph Cross Country Teams competed at the Crystal Springs Invitational Meet on Saturday, Oct 8th
The day started off with a strong 3rd place finish by the Boys JV team. Led by Scott Lindsay who placed 5th overall. Next in for the Boys JV were Ros Dudakov, Rick Brundage, Curtis Haist, and Jack Main.
In the Girls JV race, Caroline Wilcox finished 4th overall.
The Girls Frosh/Soph team placed 2nd overall with led by Kyra Ruegg. Close behind were Lauren Chuck and Emily Cavanaugh. Next was Ali Bergmann and Julia Machol.
Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country Teams traveled to the Clovis Invitational on Saturday, 8 Oct

The Clovis Invitational Cross Country race was held on the same course as the State race which is held every year in November. Many teams from the entire state attend this race so the competition was fierce.
In Saturdays action…
The girls cross country team finished first at the Ed Sias Invitational.
Varsity Amy Hollshwandner finished 3rd, Annie Marggraff 5th, Kelly Collins 6th , Tara Bozzini 8th, and Kelly Berge 14th. Tyler Troxel finished 10th.
JV boys – Scott Lindsay finished 2nd, and Rick Brundage 11th.
Frosh-soph boys – Michael Wang finished 2nd.
Frosh-soph girls – Katie Anderson finished 4th, Lauren Chuck 5th, and Morgan Samaniego 8th.
