In Thursday’s action…

Boys Basketball

pulled out a thrilling 75-74 victory over College Park HS to finish the regular season 17-9 overall and in 2nd place in league with a 7-3 record.

Girls Basketball

cruised to a 54-39 victory over College Park HS to finish the regular season 17-9 overall.

In Saturday’s action…

Boys Soccer

hosts Campolindo HS in the NCS quarterfinals at 7:00.

Wrestling

hosts the DAL Championships at 9:00 am.

Baseball

has a scrimmage at San Marin HS.  Freshmen at 11:00 and jv at 12:00.

Boys Lacrosse

hosts Marin Catholic HS in a scrimmage.  Varsity at 10:00 and jv at 12:00.

Boys Basketball

Carson Etnyre went on a scoring spree in the 3rd quarter and Ryan Nall did likewise in the 4th quarter out-muscling the Falcons in the paint.  Mitchell Smith finished off College Park HS on the free throw line to ice the victory.

Boys Soccer

Acalanes started off the NCS playoffs with a 4-1 victory over Casa Grande HS.  They advance to the quarterfinals and will host Campolindo HS Saturday at 7:00.

Basketball

Teams play College Park HS.

At Acalanes HS, jv girls at 4:00, varsity girls at 5:30 and varsity boys at 7:00.  The Senior Night Presentation will be between the varsity girls and boys games.

At College Park HS, jv boys at 4:00 and freshman boys at 5:30.

Boys Tennis

has a match at Piedmont HS at 3:30, weather permitting.

Gabe Singer scored 2 goals and had 1 assist and Luke Denham had another stellar night as goal keeper as both were named “Man of the Match.”  Drew Wondolowski scored a goal and had an assist.  Cameron Shapoorian scored a goal and Nixson Murgia had an assist.

In Tuesday’s action…

Boys Basketball

defeated Northgate HS 52-38 to raise their overall record to 16-9.

Girls Basketball

defeated Northgate HS 60-23 to raise their overall record to 16-9.  The jv team was also victorious.

Playoffs begin tonight as the #2 seeded Dons host #15 Casa Grande HS in the first round of the NCS playoffs.

Baseball

hosts San Marin HS in a scrimmage at 3:30.

Note:  At all NCS playoff events, there is an admission charge.  $10 general admission and $5 for students, children and senior citizens.  No passes or ASB stickers will be honored.

In Wednesday’s action…

Boys Soccer

squared off against Concord HS for the game that will determine the league champion.  Needing a win, not a tie, they were tied 0-0 at halftime.  With 26 minutes left in the game, the offense turned on as they scored 3 goals to win the game 3-0.

Girls Soccer

was defeated by Las Lomas HS.

Chris Rogers and Drew Wondolowski were named “Men of the Match.”  Gabe Singer scored a goal and had an assist.  Bryan Bamford and Drew Wondolowski each scored the other goals.  Nick Schirmer had the other assist.

In Tuesday’s action…

Boys Basketball

If you were not there, you missed a great game.  The boys basketball team played an outstanding game against Miramonte HS to lead by 11 points midway through the 4th quarter.  Miramonte staged a furious rally, but the Dons held them off to record the 58-56 victory.

The varsity and jv basketball teams were defeated by Miramonte HS.

battled to a 0-0 tie against a very strong College Park HS foe.  Mark girls was named “Man of the Match.”  The JV team suffered a rare defeat.

Eric Voss had 2 assists and was named “Man of the Match.”  Drew Wondolowski scored 3 goals.  Gabe Singer scored a goal and had an assist.  Travis Stevenson and Shukoor Haji each added a goal.  Bryan Bamford, Tom Higgins and Ryan Karow each had an assist.

Feb 2 – Acalanes Dons Thursday Sports

In Wednesday’s action…

Acalanes Boys Soccer

Acalanes Boys Soccer recorded yet another shutout defeating Alhambra HS Bulldogs 3-0 raising their overall record to 13-2-3 and their league record to 6-1.

Acalanes Girls Soccer

staged a great second half rally only to fall short 3-2 to Alhambra HS.  The JV team shutout the Bulldogs 3-0.

Acalanes Wrestling

The Acalanes Dons found themselves in a battle with Campolindo HS Cougars and prevailed to remain undefeated in the league.

Wednesday’s individual standouts…

Boys Soccer

Drew Wondolowski had 2 assists and Gabe Singer scored 2 goals as both were named “Man of the Match.”  Cameron Shapoorian scored the other goal and Tom Higgins had the other assist.

Girls Soccer

Varsity team: Greta Kohls scored both goals.

JV team:  Maddie Zuber scored 2 goals and Kaitlyn Parodi scored the other.  Olivia Pellegrini was outstanding in goal recording a shutout.

Wrestling

The match of the night came from freshman Ben Krey.  His Campolindo opponent almost had him pinned the entire match, but Ben continued to fight back until he recorded a come-from-behind victory by pinning his opponent.
