September 29th – Girl’s volleyball – JV

JV Volleyball Beats Alhambra:  The Acalanes JV Girls Volleyball came roaring back Tuesday, with a victory over Alhambra 25-13, 25-14.  The first game belonged to servers, with Julia Amaral and Sarah Rogers providing 16 of the 25 game points.  Rachael Cox, Jen Lincoln and Amy Thomas added points with strategic kills.  Danielle Grobeck and Blair Howard blocked attempts by the Bulldogs to score on the Dons, while the back row defense led by Josie Mueller let nothing drop.
In game two, the Dons became a killing machine.  Kills by Natalie Goepel, Rogers, Howard, Grobeck, Thomas and Cox showed slamming offense.  The defensive line was strong with Ainsley Blandford, Sophia Takashima, Rogers and Goepel holding firm.  Throughout the game, the Dons never lost the lead and Joanna Harnish neatly closed out the match by serving three aces in a row.  Next up, the Lady Dons take on Dougherty Valley, Thursday, September 30.
