Apr 28 – Girls Lacrosse Acalanes Dominates Dublin
The Lady Dons took their home field for a pleasant and productive evening of lacrosse on Thursday night, dominating a Dublin team that struggled against a potent display of ball control from the home team. The Dons went up early and never looked back, with nine players scoring fifteen goals and six providing high caliber assists. The Dublin team could only find the goal three times.
Junior Julia Mueller had three goals to go with her three draw controls to lead the Dons offense. Susie Bush, Kelsey Wendt, Anna DeRoque, and Sophie Ross put up two goals each, along with Emma Workman, Maddie Guzaitis, and Claire Gallagher for a goal each. Sophomore Sydney Louie, in her varsity debut, scored once for the Dons. Assists came from Marie Whitmore, Grace Andronico, DeRoque, Louie, Gallagher, and twice from Sophie Ross. Marie Whitmore led the Dons in draw control with four, and Kelcey Higgins continued her stalwart defense with three ground balls and one caused turnover. Emma Workman and Anna DeRoque each forced two Dublin turnovers.
Although it appeared from the stands to be a quiet night in the goal for senior Samantha Repstad, she found the ball 11 times, keeping the game firmly in control for the Dons.
In the last week of regular season play, the Dons will see Alhambra in Martinez on Tuesday night and Miramonte at home on Friday at 7 for senior night.
