Apr 28 – Baseball Update

The top ranked Dons varsity baseball squad came from behind in the Bottom of the 7th inning for a 4-3 conference win over Dougherty Valley. In the last of the 7th trailing 3-1, Matt Burns and Will Rembac hit back to back singles. After Burns and Rembac pulled off a double steal, Jake Berry came up with another big hit with a 2 run single to tie it at 3. After Tom Henderson and Ty Ewing walked to load the bases, Cole Gallagher was hit by a pitch to push the winning run across! Rembac and Harley McKee each had 2 hits in the winning effort. Matty Vicencio pitched 6 strong innings, allowing just 2 earned runs and no walks. Kevin McConnell continued his dominance as the closer and pitched one shut out inning. The Dons improve to 7-0 in league and 17-2 overall.

The JV baseball team had an offensive explosion on Thursday afternoon, beating league rival DV by a score of 12-3 to improve their overall record to 13-6. Brian Merken was the winning pitcher throwing 6 strong innings, and Jacob Weems closed it out in the 7th. Stefan Raeth went 3 for 3, while Robby Rowell, Brian Merken & Simon Oh each recorded 2 hits. Sam Saracevic had 3 RBI.
