Apr 17 – Ladies Varsity Lacrosse remains undefeated in League

…with win against Las Lomas 14-5.

Our Dons won a hard fought victory against a very determined, physical Las Lomas team last night. The score was very close the entire first half, then Acalanes scored 2 within the last 2 minutes giving the Dons a 6-4 lead. As has been the pattern, Acalanes came out strong in the second half and scored 8 unanswered goals to set up another league win.

We had some very exciting first goals by Sabrina Elliot with 1 goal, Julia Mueller had 1 goal as well as Anna DeRoque with 1 goal. Other contributions on the offense were Caith Wright with 4 goals and 2 assists, Sophie Ross had 4 goals and 1 assist, Ellie Higgins had 1 goal and 2 assists and Caroline Newman had 2 goals.

Defense was on their game and they needed to be with a very tenacious LL charging every draw and play. Jessica Hennies was outstanding with 1 draw control, 4 loose ball recoveries, and 1 caused turnover. The determined Caith Wright had 2 draw controls and 5 loose ball recoveries. Relentless Caroline Newman had 2 draw controls and caused a turnover. Super Sophie Ross and the unstoppable Marie Whitmore had 2 loose balls.
