Apr 12 – Acalanes Girls Lacrosse

The Acalanes girls lost to the host Miramonte team in their return to league play after spring break.

The Dons got off to a slow start and were almost 15 minutes into the game before Sophie Ross put in the first goal. Ross added two more over the course of the game. The Dons doubled their offensive output in the second half, led by senior Marie Whitmore with four consecutive goals for Acalanes. Anna DeRoque and Kelsey Wendt assisted on two of the goals, and Susie Bush had the other two points for the Dons. Katie Welch was active in the circle with four draw controls; Whitmore and Ross each controlled two. Kelcey Higgins also had a strong defensive game for the Dons with strong ground ball control and transition play.

The Dons face the league-leading Dougherty Valley team Friday night at 7 p.m. in San Ramon.
