Apr 11- Boys Lacrosse

Friday was a great night for the Boy’s Varsity Lacrosse Team! A record number of fans including students, parents and alumni turned out to watch the Dons as they honored the memory of Matt Lynn, a graduate of Acalanes (both a former Don’s lacrosse player and coach) who fought a valiant battle against brain cancer.

The Dons faced off against the Monte Vista Mustangs in what many thought would be a difficult game for the Dons. On the contrary, the Acalanes’ team dominated the majority of the game going in to the second half with a score of 7 to 3. Holding the Mustangs to just 1 goal in the second half, the Dons came out victorious with a final score of 12 to 4. Acalanes is currently ranked #1 in the CIF North Coast by the LaxPower website with a season record of 8 to 1.

Friday night’s win was another team effort by the Dons and all the boys played extremely well. Adrian Jeffries and Tyler Henderson played outstanding with 3 goals each. Nathan Brickman had 2 goals and 1 assist, Jack Mariani had 2 goals and Sam deRoque had a spectacular power goal late in the 2nd quarter. Chris Lane had 2 dynamite assists to Nathan Brickman. Both Cam Bosshart (7 saves) and Danny Ennis (1 save) played terrific goal-keeping holding Monte Vista to just 4 goals. Jack DeVeny continues to be a leader on the defense with 1 assist and 5 ground balls won.

This week’s games include Tuesday at home against Miramonte, Thursday at home against Marin Academy and Friday at Alhambra. All games start at 7pm.
