Acalanes Sports over the Thanksgiving break

Saturday, November 22

Cross Country

battled the elements and fought through the mud to post an outstanding NCS Championship showing. The boys finished 5th overall in division 3 to qualify for the CIF Championships Saturday, November 29 at Woodward Park in Fresno. Cameron Gaskell continues to shine placing 4th accompanied by Nima Leclerc finishing 18th and Alex Kelly in 34th place. The girls improved greatly on last years finish with a 9th place finish. Sammy Taketa placed 9th to qualify for the CIF Championships and Brooke Lennox finished 40th.

Football

completed a strong season in an offensive shootout at Analy HS falling just short 49-41 in the NCS quarterfinals.

Freshman Boys Soccer

recorded a 4-0 victory, with Shukoor Haji scoring 3 goals.

Frosh-Soph Girls Soccer

led by Lyenne Denny fell short to Dublin HS 2-0 in the mud bowl.

Monday, November 24

Girls Basketball

defeated Sir Francis Drake HS 76-35.

Tuesday, November 25

Girls Basketball

defeated California HS 73-64 in the NCS Foundation game. JV at 5:30 and varsity at 7:00.

Boys Basketball

was defeated by Foothill HS 72-66 in overtime in the NCS Foundation game. Joey Hewitt led in scoring with 32 points.

Wednesday, November 26

Boys Basketball

defeated the Alumni 59-55.

Saturday, November 29

Cross Country

Congratulations to Sammy Taketa for a strong performance placing 22nd at the CIF State Cross Country Championships in division 3.
