Dons Show up in the pool to start Spring Break

The mighty Dons swim team ended their season on a high note with strong performances at both the DAL Varsity & JV Championship meets held this past weekend. Participating teams included Acalanes, Campolindo, Miramonte, Northgate and Las Lomas.  After competing on Friday in the prelims, the team had 24 swimmers qualify for the finals on Saturday. 
Varsity was led by top 5 finishers:  Shelby Suppiger (Senior) 4th 200 IM, 4th 100 Breast, Jay Mills (Senior) 3rd 50 Free, 7th 100 Free, Lila Waechter (Soph) 4th 50 Free, 6th 100 Free, Sophi MacKay (Soph) 5th 50 free, 7th 100 free, and Freshman Parker Etnyre -5th 200 free and 12th 100 free.  Lila’s 50 free time of 24.51 goes in the books as the 10th fastest all time for Acalanes women’s team. 
Top 20 finalists were:  Heidi Heffelfinger (200, 500 free), Audrey Cox (200, 500 free), Claire Rowell (50 free, 100 breast), Caroline Schirmer (50 & 100 free), Zack Benisek (50 & 100 free), Beck Melfi (50 free, 100 fly), Hans Ramirez (50 & 100 free), Emma Miller (100 fly, 100 breast), Franny Daughters (100 fly, 100 back), Sean Harrington (100 fly, 100 breast), Arthemis Berloui (100 fly), Daylor Williams (100 free), Ethan Del Rosario (100 back), Luke Watson (100 back), Ethan Walker (100 back), Liam Stephenson (100 back), Sarah McCarthy (100 breast), Will Dreyer (100 breast), and Miguel Strittmatter (100 breast).
JV team top 5 finishes came from:  Kaitlyn Keely– (1st 50 free, 4th 100 IM), Sophie Hendrickson-( 2nd 50 free, 3rd 100 free), Walker Smith (3rd 50 free, 7th 100 breast), Taryn Veronda (4th 200 free & 100 back), Liv Hoppe– (4th 50 free, 6th 100 free), Chloe Goddard (5th 100 IM & 100 back), and Cale Hanson (5th 100 back, 11th 50 free). Top 20 JV swimmers:  Bella Bundy, Krista Keely, Chloe Lockwood, Cora Murray, Will Paulsen and Emma Uffelman
