Frosh/Soph Girls Soccer Update

The first game for the Acalanes Frosh/Soph team was on Saturday, Nov. 16th. With only a few practices under them, they played a solid game and lost to Clayton Valley by a close score of 1-0. The defensive players did a good job of disrupting the charges led by Clayton Valley and Alexandra Ames did an outstanding job of defending the goal. Teamwork and skills improved as the game went on and the Dons are off to a good start for the season.

11/23 Acalanes vs. Antioch
The Frosh/Soph Team has a new name: “Funky Monkey Frosh,” and three new team captains: Kendel Geddes, Ella Easley, and Abby Montaquila. The girls were fired up and scored their first goals of the season. Ella and Julia Knights both assisted each other and scored goals, Alexa Malinovsky had a great corner goal, Krista Keeley had two goals, and the girls came up with a nice win, 6-1 Acalanes.

11/23 Acalanes vs. College Park
After their morning victory, the Funky Money Frosh faced College Park the same afternoon. College Park came out strong, and only stout defense (featuring, among others, Bella Starbuck matched up against the opponents’ most persistent threat) kept them off the scoreboard. In the second half, though, Acalanes found their form, playing a much more aggressive game and threatening on several occasions. In the end, the result was a hard-earned tie, 0-0.

The Funky Monkey Frosh will travel to Las Lomas on Saturday at 12pm.
