Varsity Baseball Beats Campolindo 10-1

The Dons came at the Cougars for all 7 innings, with 12 hits on the day.

With a relentless offense and solid defense, Acalanes took down Campolindo in decisive fashion in Tuesday’s home game. The 10-1 win was the the first of two games this week against the Cougars. The Dons remain unbeaten in League play (7-0) and are 17-2 on the season.

With a solid team effort throughout, the Dons didn’t give Campo a break anywhere in the lineup and racked up 12 hits on the day. Sam Heyman drove in the most runs (3) on the day, with a big line drive triple in the 2nd inning, putting Acalanes up 5-1. Davis Diaz, Nick Kresnak (1 RBI), Scott Brydon (2 RBI’s) and Nicolas Bamont anchored the Dons offense with two hits each. Luke Miles (2 RBI’s) and Brady Huchingson (1 RBI) also had a hit, and Thatcher Hurd drove in a run with a sac fly.

Dons pitching kept the door shut on the Cougars. Logan Hurd got the start and the win for Acalanes, pitching 4 innings and allowing 1 run with 5 strikeouts. Michael Castelli pitched 2 solid innings with 2 K’s, and Will Easley made his season debut on the mound to close out the game, getting the final three outs with 3 K’s.

The Dons next play the Cougars again on Thursday at Campolindo at 4pm.
